Yapı Kredi Bank completed the project to reconstruct its World credit card program

On 5 November 2007, Yapı Kredi Bank completed the project to reconstruct its World credit card program, Turkey’s largest credit card platform.

By organizing its credit card strategy under one card and one brand, Yapı Kredi not only aims to reinforce and benefit from the already strong image of ‘World’, but also to put an end to “card inflation” in wallets.

The new system, based on the “Can Do” philosophy, will have an interactive, customized program architecture where one or more of the clubs the new system offers can be easily loaded into any credit card to activate services and advantages hand-picked by the customer. This innovation is the first not only in Turkey, but also globally.

6 new clubs and 4 new programs have been designed, offered regardless of income level and social class, to appeal to a wide ranging base depending on life-style, eliminating additional costs for unnecessary features for customers. (Clubs: Travel, Play, Crystal, Business, Platinum and Gold Programs: Sharing, Communication, Travel and Student) The clubs and programs will be able to evolve in parallel to changing customer demands and preferences.

Yapı Kredi creates synergies between its customers and member merchants through its advanced marketing techniques, using proprietary CRM programs and database marketing systems. These capabilities provide member merchants with an infrastructure through which they can achieve more effective and productive marketing through tailored sales campaigns. Through the introduction of the new World system, the onedirectional and static communication allowed by CRM systems will be updated to the new dimension of Customer-Managed Relationships (CMR).

Yapı Kredi was the first bank in Turkey to issue credit cards to individuals in 1988 and has since then maintained its leadership in the credit card sector. As of September 2007, with 6.6 mln credit cards (including virtual cards), Yapı Kredi is the largest player in Turkey's growing credit card market with 19% market share in number of cards, 25.3% market share in outstanding volume and 23% market share in issuing volume.
